Below are some questions we get asked all the time about marquees, and their answers!
What type or marquees do you have?
All our marquees are the aluminium frame type.
Can I have a lean-to on the back of my house?
Not really, all marquees are free standing but can be butted up close to the house to stop rain etc getting in.
Will a marquee fit in my garden?
Because we have free standing marquees that do not have guy rops we caan use the maximum space available within your garden.
A site visit will be required to check measurements and to recommend the most appropriate size.
What size marquee will I need?
That will depend on the nature of your event and the number of guests. Please check the sizing chart for an indication.
Can you supply anything else to go with the marquee?
Yes! We can supply floor, carpet, lights, linigs, heaters and furniture etc. We do not supply table linen and crockery etc
although we can recommend where you can hire from. We can also supply WC trailers, generators and other such equipment.
What colour are the linings?
Standard linings are ivory pleated however also available is blackout, starcloth in black, blue or white and ivory flat.
If required, colours can be introduced to the linings as swags or wall flashes.
How long is the hire period?
Standard hire is up to 7 days although that can be increased if required.
If its hot, can we open the marquee?
Yes, the sides are easily opened and closed and generally the marquee can be opened all around.
Do you drive stakes into my garden?
Yes, all marquees must be anchored, however the stakes are only 2.5mm in diameter, the holes left will soon disappear.
Please inform us if there are any pipes or cables buried in the area.
Can the marquee be built on a patio, car park or similar hard surface?
Yes, although it must be anchored in some way and there are several options for this. We can either drill thr ground and drive
stakes, or in concrete drill and use rawl bolts. On block paving we can sometimes remove individual blocks and drive in stakes.
The last option is weights either sand bags or water weights.
Can maquees be used in the winter?
Yes, we can supply heaters and a floor. The floor is important if its wet because even if the marquee is built on a hard surface
the rain will run in under the sides. Obviously if built on grass a floor will prevent the area turning into a quagmire.
How good are the heaters?
The heaters run on diesel and are very effective, they work using a thermostat so are easily controllable.
My ground is uneven, is that a problem?
Not at all, although severe undulations may make life difficult.
Can I make last minute changes to the order?
Within reason yes, we will always do out utmost to comply with your wishes.
Is insurance included in the price?
No, it is your responsibility to look after and/or insure the hired equipment. You can arrange your own cover or we can provide a
damage waiver as 5% of the hire cost subject to a £250 excess. More comprehensive insurance is available on request. This
can include wedding and event cover. Typically wedding insurance covers things such as the cake, flowers and photographs etc.
Event insurance for example covers public liability and cancellation. Please ask for a full list of options.
When will the marquee be erected and taken down?
Normally we build two days before the event and take down as soon as possible after, usually on the Monday for a weekend event.
All arrangements can be tailored to your own requirements.
We are worried about the power supply, what can we do?
We can supply a generator if necessary, it is advisable if you are having a band or catering with hot food.
We are expecting lots of guests, what can we do about toilets?
We can arrange for a variety of toilets from basic individual units to luxury self contained trailer units.
